In TRAFOLO, users can set the winding direction by setting the excitation direction (current, voltage) across the winding. There are two methods to achieve this in TRAFOLO:
- Swapping Terminals Visually in the ElMag tab
- Swapping Nodes/Indices in the Circuits tab
Swapping Terminals in ElMag Tab
Terminals can be visually identified in ElMag. Orange terminal represents Positive, Black terminal represents negative, and Grey elements represent Undefined terminals (considered as disconnected terminals).
Clicking on the colored section of the winding changes the terminal type, allowing the excitation (current, voltage) direction to be set up as needed.
Swapping Indices in Circuits Tab
The terminals in the Circuit section are specified by their nodes or indices. Swapping these indices effectively exchanges the component terminals. This action reverses the current direction through the component.
