Calculating Leakage Inductance for Transformers
- Setup
- Go to the Setup and choose to calculate Inductance under Electromagnetics.
- Configuring Elmag
- Enable the secondary winding.
- Choose voltage under excitation.
- Ensure all coil groups are connected to primary or secondary as needed.
- Configuring Waveforms
- Set the voltage on the secondary side to zero to close the circuit.
- Perform a frequency sweep for a given amplitude of current to calculate leakage inductance.
- Results
- Leakage inductance is calculated using energy and circuits.
- Visualization
- Check the magnetic flux from which leakage inductance was calculated.
- Adjust the time variable to view magnetic flux at different frequencies.
