Importing CAD geometries

Importing and Organizing CAD Files

  1. Accessing CAD Files
    • Export 3D models from external software in STEP (STP) or IGES (IGS) formats.
    • Navigate to TRAFOLO and click the Geometry tab to import one or multiple CAD files.
  2. Checking for Overlapping Geometries
    • Enable transparency and adjust the background color for better visibility.
    • Identify and address any overlapping geometries, such as solder and winding.
  3. Fusing Geometries
    • Select parts of the same component (e.g., coil) and fuse them together.
    • Ensure each coil consists of one geometrical object for proper terminal setup.
  4. Assigning Geometry Types
    • Define the core, coil, and other component types.
    • Exclude non-essential parts for electromagnetic simulations.
  5. Finalizing the Setup
    • Click Apply to copy and set geometrical parts in the corresponding tabs.
