Circuit Setup
In this case, we will set up circuits for the autotransformer template.
- Setting Up the Circuit
- The voltage source on the left side
- Primary and secondary windings, along with the load
- Current flows through both windings and the load in a step-down autotransformer
- Building the Circuit
- Setting Positive terminal for voltage source and primary winding
- Setting a Negative terminal for the voltage source, a secondary winding, and load as ground
- Defining a Common node that connects both windings
- The selection of index numbers is arbitrary
- Common indexes between components indicating connections between them
- Simulation and Results
- Running the simulation (takes about 15 seconds)
- Checking results in the Graphs section
- Analyzing amplitude current for primary, secondary, and load
- Observations
- The current amplitude in the load is a sum of primary and secondary currents
